Thomas
J. Deverell
President
Tom Deverell has over twenty-seven years of leadership experience
in the office equipment industry with proven expertise in
business turnarounds, acquisitions, revenue growth, process
improvement, management development, employee satisfaction
and customer retention.
Mr.
Deverell began his business career as controller at Kex
Copy Products in Buffalo, New York in 1977. He became CFO
and then General Manager of the company in 1982. During
his seven-year tenure as General Manager, Kex saw its revenue
triple.
As President
of San Sierra Business Systems, Mr. Deverell turned around
the company's record of five straight years of income loss,
and achieved all goals including revenue, cash generation,
and operating income.
As Vice
President of Alco Office Products, Mr. Deverell was responsible
for supporting all under-performing Alco Companies. He assisted
with the development of a new strategic and tactical business
plan involving sales, service, finance, marketing and administration.
He also personally mentored each of the eight presidents
who reported directly to his position. During his first
year, the operating income of these companies grew 17%.
As the
President of CopyLine Corporation (an IKON company), Mr.
Deverell turned an annual loss of over $2 million into a
profit of $6.6 million. He launched an outsourcing division
and grew its revenue from zero to $10 million, and achieved
the highest employee satisfaction rating in IKON's first
worldwide employee satisfaction survey in 1998.
Before
founding The Officia Group, Mr. Deverell served as President,
IKON Office Solutions, Northwest District. He was responsible
for IKON Business Services, IKON Technology Services, IKON
Management Services, IKON Legal Document Services and IKON
Business Document Services. Recruited to turnaround the
District, he successfully took a 1998 loss of $35 million
and turned it into a profit of $24 million in 1999. During
his tenure in this position, revenues grew to over $700
million and operating income grew in excess of $80 million.
Mr.
Deverell has a BS in Finance & Marketing from Albany State
University.
